Blossom Alone

Our rehab coordinator, Paulina, came across Blossom’s story online. She was a senior cat of 12 years, both declawed and toothless, who was abandoned at the Rutherford County Animal Control shelter by her family. Understandably Blossom was terrified and “shut down.” Although Lee Shore Rescue was pretty dang full, our intake committee talked it over and voted that we could not leave her. So Blossom came home. A veterinary exam showed that she has painful arthritis as well.

Blossom is doing well in rehab. Initially she was terrified and painful. This made her reluctant to move. Once she got comfortable on some arthritis medication and got used to Paulina and her new digs, her sweet, purring personality showed through.

Blossom is very little trouble. She is an indoor only cat who eats canned food. She takes a daily arthritis medication. She is up to date on her immunizations and uses her litter box reliably. She loves to sit in a lap and would like to live in a quiet home. She is learning to walk on a harness and leash so she can safely go outside on occasion. Like all cats, she likes to hide in a box. Mostly she wants to feel safe and loved.
