We have this hope as an anchor for the soul…. Mathew 6:19
Our rehabilitation coordinator, Paulina, called a meeting of the intake committee and started a big, old fight. She had heard about Daphne, an 8-year- old, 8 pound, senior dog found straying. Daphne had severe dental disease and was in quite a bit of pain. She needed all of her teeth removed to the cost of more than $500. The Lee Shore Rescue intake committee had a spirited conversation about its finances and its current lack of $500. Scripture was quoted, a few names may have flown, and one woman of faith overrode the objections to throw a lifeline to a little dog adrift on a big sea. Ultimately Paulina was right. She asked a goodhearted vet to discount our usual discount, groomed, fed her up… With faith, she pulled little Daphne close, healed her hurts, Lee Shore Rescue financially scraped by for one more month and this sweet girl is adopted into a loving, secure family.
